SYNOPSIS 1. TITLE OF THE STUDY: An analytical study of the impact of Dollar-Rupee movement on Indian equity market. 2. INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY: The study is about how the Rupee appreciation or Rupee depreciation against Dollar impacts the investors in Indian equity market. The study details about the concepts of Currency fluctuations, Rupee appreciation and Rupee Depreciation. * Currency fluctuation There are mainly two ways by which currency rates are managed. Firstly, countries fix their currency against dollar. Hence the exchange rate doesn t change. Government takes action to manage any fluctuation that may happen. RESEARCH DESIGN: Since the study is on effect of Dollar-Rupee fluctuation on the Indian equity market Causal research will be used to show the cause-and-effect relationships. Causal research: The objective of causal research is to test hypotheses about cause-and-effect relationships. Causal Research explores the effect of one thing on another and more specifically, the effect of one variable on another. The research is used to measure what impact a specific change will have on existing norms. This type of research is very complex and the researcher can never be completely certain that there are not other factors influencing the causal relationship, especially when dealing with people’s attitudes and motivations. There are often much deeper psychological considerations that even the respondent may not be aware of.
